Darvin Ham reveals what bold message Anthony Davis wrote on the Lakers’ whiteboard after gaining confidence

Darvin Ham and Anthony Davis

Past two games, Anthony Davis has been a nightmare for his opponents on both sides of the floor. On any given night, Davis can be a bad dream for his opponents whether it is rebounding the ball, scoring the basket, or blocking the shots. Having a monstrous night comes easy to Anthony Davis when he is himself. Davis scored 38 points, had 16 rebounds, and 4 blocks against the Detroit Pistons.

In the absence of LeBron James, Davis has been rebuilding the seemingly broken Los Angeles Lakers roster. After their win against the Pistons, coach Ham was all smiling while talking about Davis.

He’s been playing very very well in my opinion,” Ham said. “It’s funny because he came to my office before this season even started and just put on my little dry erase board…’2022-23 throw the ball to A.D’.”

Past few games Davis has been very clear with his approach in the game. He has been more demanding at the offensive glass and scoring on the second opportunity.

Anthony Davis can be the best player on the court on any given night and even that is not enough to justify the talent the big man possesses. The talk about Davis being in the top 5 players in the league has been making rounds for the last two years now. “He doesn’t pay attention to it, but he hears some of the chatter out there and he wants to get back to where he’s in that discussion about top 5 best in the league,” Ham added.

Anthony Davis has had back-to-back 30-point games for the Los Angeles Lakers to lead the offense. While LeBron James remains absent from the lineup due to his injury, Davis is taking over his original role again and forcing the offense to run through him. In the last few games without any doubt, Davis has looked like his superstar self.

The Lakers have now won two consecutive games, which is certainly good news for the team that had a 2-9 start to the season. Davis has scored 37 and 38 points in two consecutive games against Brooklyn Nets and Detriot Pistons. Although these two teams are not known for their lockdown defense, it certainly is enough to get the team finds its rhythm.

I’d be glad if I had zero points and we won,” Davis said. “We’ve got to put a string of wins together to get back in this thing, but take it one game at a time.

Austin Reaves who himself had a night against the Pistons gave Davis his well-deserved flowers. “He’s been a monster this whole season, but definitely the last three games or so,” Reaves said. “That’s what he does, and everybody knows it.”

That being said, Reaves put on a clinic in the 4th quarter that got the Lakers bench hyped up. He ended his night with 16 points and 6 assists.
