Dejounte Murray after a while is back in the NBA headlines as the San Antonio Spurs are looking to ship him around and out of nowhere, Atlanta Hawks are the first name on the list. The Hawks already had rumors out regarding them shipping John Collins before the Draft and now with San Antonio Spurs listening to them, a trade can be coming in real soon. But as of now nothing can be confirmed or said as the talking and negotiating process goes on. Dejounte Murray this season finally got himself in the light and showed the world how good of a player he is and how impactful he can be in any given situation. The Atlanta Hawks are also looking for someone like him to team up with Trae Young in the backcourt and take care of the defensive end while handling the ball and being a part of the pick and roll system.
Dejounte Murray this season got a trip to the NBA All-Star game and it won’t be the only time as it’s just the start of him shining bright. This season he averaged 21.1 points, 8.3 assists and 9.2 rebounds. These numbers are just a part of his stats, his efforts and high IQ play also add to his skillsets. As most of the time, he is able to clown the rivals and get the job done. Him being part of the system around Trae Young would really be destruction for the league. As not only their defensive end will boost up but they’ll also be able to pace up on the scoring one. As the Spurs’ guard is also a good shooter and playmaker who’ll just improve with time.
But the trade won’t come in that easy as according to Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer to land Dejounte Murray in Atlanta, the Hawks would have to give away a lot of assets and not just John Collins or a pick. As the San Antonio Spurs believe that in exchange they deserve a Jrue Holiday-like package. They surely do as in the last season while the team was rebuilding Murray single-handedly carried the not-so-good roster on his back to multiple wins and gave them hopes. He even finished second in the Most Imporved Player of the Year voting this season.
One of the main reasons behind the San Antonio Spurs parting ways or thinking to trade Dejounte Murray can be their rebuilding and his contract extension which is nearing. So it’s understandable as while rebuilding the team from the ground they won’t really like to spend a lot on their single-star. But still, there have been no statements out yet regarding the trade.

Dejounte Murray on joining Trae Young at Atlanta Hawks
The trade isn’t still in but Dejounte Murray has probably made up his mind that he’s going to Atlanta and will be suiting alongside Trae Young. The duo will surely be one of the best backcourts in the league and it also looks promising as the Hawks were really missing a piece from their team which was holding them back the whole time but now things can change. Dejounte Murray though is excited as retweeting to the news of his trade rumor via his personal Twitter handle he wrote: “Uh Ohhhhhhhhh ?.”
Dejounte Murray already has popcorns out as he knows him teaming up with Trae Young is nothing but the league getting cooked by them.
