Dennis Rodman might be one of the greatest defenders to have ever played in the NBA, but his life itself was the most legendary, any basketball fanatic could know off. From incidents like – marrying himself, to making a WWE appearance, to being married for only 9 days, to dating the most iconic Hollywood music sensation, Rodman has done it all. And that to – with grace and style.

However, one thing that Rodman missed during his explicit and fast-paced life was the time he could have spent with his family and kids. When your father is as busy as Dennis Rodman, the kids are surely going to have a reluctance, opening up to their father. On the same note, in an interview when the host asked about Dennis Rodman’s relation with his kids, after suffering himself from a strained parenthood, he got emotional.

To those who are not aware, Rodman’s father had abandoned him and his two sisters when he was just three years old. In addition, his mother wasn’t really a constant presence in his life. He had to work several odd jobs for pocket money. He once took up a job as a janitor at the Dallas Airport due to which he had even gotten into trouble. But those are just some of the many incidents of his early hardship.

Thinking about the same, Rodman quoted in the same interview, “I lie to myself a lot about…I’m a great dad, I love my kids and then I have to go home and sit there and beat myself up because I’m just telling myself all these lies.”

“I don’t need anything, it’s about our kids, they don’t need anything, they want you to be in their lives,” said Rodman, recalling the conversation with his ex-wife. He further told, “I said in 18-19 years, they never said that to me.”

Just goes onto showcase the sad reality Dennis Rodman had in his life. On one hand, where fans could only see him partying and enjoying. Perhaps the enjoyment and spontaneousness took Rodman’s family away from him.
