Dennis Rodman is back in the NBA headlines and like every other time, it’s just another shocking story of his. This time it’s about his vacation trip to Vegas which was ended by Michael Jordan as he didn’t report back to the team on time. As in his recent interview with “Fullsendpodcast”, he detailed the whole experience. Dennis Rodman is undoubtedly a very unique and unrepeatable superstar from the league. So the Chicago Bulls had to take special care of him as handling a beast like him on and off the court was never easy.
Many fans have tagged Dennis Rodman as a “Crazy Motherf**ker” who did what he wanted to do while enjoying his time out there. He was a party animal and it wasn’t physically and mentally even possible for others around him to keep up with the energy he had. Dennis Rodman was also nicked as “Menace” for the off-court business he was known for back in the days. But we shouldn’t forget his Hall of Fame and Legendary career where he has got himself a stacked resume with multiple championships and records registered under his name while he suited up alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.
But being a bit different from others, Dennis Rodman had to take a break once while the regular season was on. As he wanted to get his mind back on the game and for that to happen he needed a trip to his favorite spot, Las Vegas. So he talked about it with Phil Jackson and got himself two days to enjoy. But as expected by Michael Jordan he never showed up on time. So Black Jesus had to drag him back from Sin City.
Dennis Rodman reveals Michael Jordan dragged him back from Vegas to play basketball
Dennis Rodman talking about his vacation on the podcast quoted: “I don’t think anyone’s ever approached any coach the way I did in Chicago with Phil Jackson. I just got so bored, same routine every day. So I went to Phil Jackson and say, ‘Hey Phil, hey man, I gotta get my mind right. I gotta go to Vegas.’ He said, ‘You wanna go to Vegas? Two days.’”
Further, Dennis Rodman mentioned: “This was during the season, midway through the season, we’re playing games. Next thing you know I’m in Vegas having a blast with a bunch of girls, just me and Carmen, a bunch of Jagers drinking my a** off. On the third day, I’m still in Vegas partying my a** off. Fourth day, partying my a** off. Who comes to Vegas to pick me up? Michael Jordan. ‘Dennis, you gotta come back and play!’”
That’s how Dennis Rodman was brought back to the Bulls to play some great basketball. And that vacation of his really worked as after it he was fired up and committed to the game. So eventually, the Bulls registered another title under their name in the 1997-98 season, as the greatest rebounder of all-time didn’t let them down.
