Dennis Rodman’s controversial and mischievous stints back in the 90’s need no introduction. Perhaps, he is the only player who has been able to marry himself, feature on WWE and go onto clinch the NBA Championship all together. To add to his list of events, the Chicago Bulls went onto ask out Ivanka Trump out on a date. But was laughed out of the room for his spontaneous gesture.
There is no doubt that Dennis Rodman was or perhaps ‘is’ a womanizer. Having had flings with major Hollywood celebs, it seems like he was on his ‘A’ game even after years of retiring from basketball. Just how ravishing Rodman’s life has been, in 2019, he sat down with ‘The Breakfast Club’ for an interview. And during this episode, he revealed something that left every single audience member shocked when they heard about this particular incident.
Dennis Rodman tried to hit on Ivanka Trump
Rodman said, “I tried dating his daughter. I tried to date his daughter before she got married. I tried to… She just laughed. She just laughed.” To be fair to Ivanka Trump, she could have just thought it was a sick joke that Rodman played, and decided to laugh along. But the former defensive juggernaut made it clear during the interview that he was serious about the proposition and meant every word of it.
Given that all of us have had out stories of rejections and embarrassment, but things surely couldn’t get worse for Dennis Rodman. Perhaps this only signifies how spontaneous and moody this Hall of Famer can get.
It is safe to say that even when there was no social media in the 80s and 90s, Rodman was way ahead of his time to be able to get into people’s mind all the time with his notorious acts and antics. Be it his absence from the Bulls, to going to Vegas for benders, Rodman has always followed his heart. Just that some of his desired work hasn’t caught up too positively with the fans and personnel involved.
