Among these avid Lakers supporters is the two-time Academy Awards winner Denzel Washington. In 2018, he disclosed a playful trick he attempted on Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bulls legend, to make him falter during a Lakers game.

Denzel Washington has been a supporter of the Los Angeles Lakers for a long time. The reputed Hollywood megastar has made numerous courtside appearances to support his favorite team over the years. Once, the 2022 Presidential Medal of Freedom winner revealed that he tried to trick Jordan into performing badly against the Lakers after a magnificent outing years ago. However, Washington confessed that it was not easy to deceit the Bulls legend’s wisdom.

During a 2018 interview with host Jimmy Kimmel on The Jimmy Kimmel Show, Denzel Washington faced the challenging query of identifying the greatest basketball player of all time. The esteemed actor tactfully responded, acknowledging the difficulty of the question, and skillfully tried to evade it by posing a counter-question: “At What?”

Nevertheless, host Kimmel remained determined not to let Washington off the hook. Unfazed, Kimmel promptly replied, “Basketball!” This humorous exchange sparked laughter from both the audience and the Hollywood superstar himself. Denzel then disclosed an interesting detail about sharing a post-game dinner with Jordan. Adding a touch of humor, he playfully remarked that he ended up working as MJ’s security, jokingly attributing it to the basketball legend’s overwhelming popularity.
