Last night at the Frost Bank Center, located in San Antonio and home to the San Antonio Spurs, Derrick White and the Boston Celtics paid a visit. In what turned out to be an entertaining game of basketball, the Celtics emerged victorious with a convincing score of 134-101.

In the third quarter of the game, a pivotal moment unfolded as Jayson Tatum‘s three-point attempt missed its mark. Seizing the opportunity, Victor Wembanyama swiftly grabbed the loose ball and made a speedy dash towards the Celtics’ paint. White, in hot pursuit, seemed poised for a block but then appeared to reconsider as Wemby aimed for a spectacular slam dunk.

Speaking to the press after the game, Derrick White was asked about his attempt to block the rookie sensation. He responded by saying:

I’m not an idiot. I was hoping he’d take another dribble, but he just picked it up, and I never saw it again. I assumed he’s going to take one more dribble. But yeah, that was crazy.

White concluded the game with a solid performance, notching 17 points, two rebounds, and five assists. On the other hand, Wemby showcased his skills with an impressive stat line, finishing the game with 21 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. The veteran was left impressed with Wemby’s showings:

His length and the things he can do on the court are pretty special. He’s just starting to come into his own, figuring out how to play in this league. Just a guy with his size to do what he can do is obviously pretty special. He’s just going to keep getting better,” White said, praising Wembanyama.

Boston Celtics go six games unbeaten

The Boston Celtics are riding an incredible wave of form, securing victory in six consecutive matches, including last night’s convincing 134-101 win over the Spurs. Their remarkable streak remains unbroken since the overtime loss of 132-126 on the road against the Golden State Warriors.

Boasting the best record in the league at 26-6, the Celtics stand as the team with the fewest losses this season. Integral to this impressive run are standout performances from Jayson Tatum, averaging 26.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and boasting a 47.4% field goal percentage. Additionally, Jaylen Brown has been a key contributor with averages of 23 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and an impressive 48.9% field goal rate. Their combined efforts have played a pivotal role in the Celtics’ dominant season thus far.

Currently sitting as the top seed in the Eastern Conference, the Celtics travel to the Paycom Center to face the Western Conference number two seed, Oklahoma City Thunder next. That, promises to be an exciting game between East and West high-performing teams.
