Brittney Griner is back in the headlines as a critical take of former American President Donald Trump on her has resurfaced on the internet and viral again. The WNBA superstar is stuck in Russia for months now and held as a ‘political prisoner’. Brittney Griner is undoubtedly a generational and unique talent in the league’s history she also has a lot of achievements under her name. But still, none of those matters as she’s locked up in Russia with no satisfying information about her return to American Soil.
As of now, Brittney Griner is serving her nine long years sentence in the Russian Penal Colony. As she recently pleaded guilty for the drugs smuggling charges (officials found vape cartridges containing cannabis oil in her luggage) which have got her booked for a year less than a decade. She also mentioned the medical purpose behind those and how it was all unintentionally done. But the Russian officials and the court also Donald Trump cared the least about her.
The Biden Administration has made continuous efforts to get their superstar back but unfortunately, Brittney Griner ain’t that lucky. And, now we also have Donald Trump hating on all those efforts by the government as he believes Brittney Griner is nothing but a “spoiled person”. As he gave a complete critical take on the prisoner swap deal being discussed for BG’s release between the two nations during an interview of his at the radio show, “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.”
Both the nations, America and Russia are discussing a prisoner swap deal for Brittney Griner’s release. And, Donald Trump isn’t riding with it as he criticized the exchange on the radio show. BG would have been back but Russia is being nothing but greedy at the moment and demanding the most possible. As they requested U.S.A to add convicted murderer Vadim Krasikov in the deal for the prisoner swap of Brittney Griner and Paul Whelan along with Viktor Bout.

Donald Trump on the prisoner swap deal being discussed for Brittney Griner’s release
Donald Trump discussing the prisoner swap deal straight away criticized Brittney Griner and the deal too. As emotionlessly, he believes she’s at fault and kinda deserves it all. As he quoted: “She went in there loaded up with drugs into a hostile territory where they’re very vigilant about drugs. They don’t like drugs. And she got caught. And now we’re supposed to get her out and she makes, you know, a lot of money, I guess and we’re supposed to get her out for an absolute killer and one of the biggest arms dealers in the world.”
Further, Donald Trump added: “He’s going to get a free card, and we’re gonna get her. She knew you don’t go in there loaded up with drugs, and she admitted it. I assume she admitted it without too much force because it is what it is. It certainly doesn’t seem like a very good trade, does it? He’s an absolute one of the worst in the world, and he’s going to be given his freedom because a potentially spoiled person goes into Russia loaded up with drugs.”
Honestly, Donald Trump is being emotionless but not senseless here. As the deal is totally unfair as Russia is demanding certain names which are a threat to world peace for just a basketball player who isn’t really at fault and just got between the battlefield for being an American Global Celebrity. With all of this happening and things being discussed, Brittney Griner’s return is still uncertain while her wife is making the best possible efforts for her.
