“Don’t give a damn what Draymond Green gotta say” – Kendrick Perkins CALLS IT OVER for Steph Curry’s Warriors dynasty
Kendrick Perkins believes Golden State Warriors' dynasty days are over.
Kendrick Perkins, Steph Curry and Draymond Green
Kendrick Perkins is back in the NBA headlines and the reason is once again one of his hot takes. And, this time on the receiving end is Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors. The Warriors were recently eliminated from the playoffs in the Western Conference Semifinals by the Los Angeles Lakers. The match-ups were great but LeBron James got the job done and showed Stephen Curry and the Warriors the way out. And, Kendrick Perkins now claims the good days for the Dubs are done as he believes the dynasty is over for them.
The Golden State Warriors this season were surely not a championship-bound team. And, unfortunately, neither their old core nor the younger one was able to ball out. It was just Stephen Curry doing the needful but that wasn’t enough against the Lakers. They had a disappointing end to their season and failed to defend the title. And, now it looks like an end, especially, to Kendrick Perkins. Let’s also not forget Kendrick Perkins is the same guy who last season hated on the Warriors and later got silenced.
But this time maybe Kendrick Perkins is right and has a concrete theory. Recently sitting alongside Molly Qerim and Stephen A. Smith he explained how the Warriors aren’t a dynasty anymore. While doing so he quoted: “Hell yeah it’s over, Molly. Hell yeah, and I don’t give a damn what Draymond Green’s got to say. Yes, it’s over. Let me explain something to you, OK? The run has been great, but let me say something that is actual facts. The Warriors really haven’t beaten LeBron without KD since, what, 2016? I mean, Bron actually has them figured out.”
Further, Kendrick Perkins added: “As long as LeBron James is in the Western Conference and as long as he can continue to play at that level, and he has Anthony Davis playing at that level, they’ve still got to go through the Los Angeles Lakers. Guess what? Other teams in the Western Conference are going to continue to get better. I know we keep wishful thinking, and I know Steph Curry is the people’s champ, and I get it – everybody loves him and all that, and they want to continue to see him be successful. I want him to be successful, but at some point, all good things come to an end, just like the San Antonio Spurs. That dynasty is over.”
Kendrick Perkins isn’t all wrong with his take. As teams in the West are really getting better and stacked. As of now, many superstars have shifted to the west and the offseason hasn’t even started. Also, the Warriors’ young core which isn’t that experienced as of now turned out to be disappointing in the run, especially, Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins. Both the guys got the bag but didn’t live up to the expectations it came with. The generational trio of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson isn’t also the same and they may soon have to break it up for the future of the franchise.

Is Kendrick Perkins right while claiming the Warriors Dynasty to end?
Kendrick Perkins is right to a lot of extents as he has even mentioned the tough decisions Golden State Warriors ownership and front office will have to make this offseason. The future of Klay Thompson Draymond Green, Stephen Curry, and even GM Bob Myers with the organization is uncertain.
Except for Stephen Curry, none is safe but again it’s all about being better at the business so that’s fair. The other stars who are eligible for an extension will have to take a pay cut or explore the market, as paying everyone while getting better isn’t possible.
But the Golden State Warriors can prove Kendrick Perkins wrong by running a Last Dance. The trio can come together once again take pay cuts to run it back, Bob Myers can re-sign and ship the young core around and get some help to land on the winning end. But while doing this they may risk their future and end up in a worse situation. So as an organization, they may do what’s best for them and unfortunately, we’ll soon see the trio break apart and prove Kendrick Perkins right. The Dub Nation though will always be rooting for them to stay together, ball out and keep winning. Also, the legacy of 4 NBA Championships is already cemented and good things do come to an end.
