Draymond Green believes that Paul Pierce paved the path for LeBron James and Steph Curry
Draymond Green played host to the Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce recently on his YouTube channel, “The Draymond Green Show.” Interestingly enough, their conversation was about how the Boston Celtics created the first NBA superteam, which has been mirrored by other teams.
The Boston Celtics, led by team captain Paul Pierce, assembled a team that included Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, which led to an NBA championship. A move that influenced the Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors’ decision to acquire LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
Pierce started the conversation rolling when he inquired from Green if it was his team that conquered the league in 2008 and were the pioneers of the superteams we see today in the NBA. Green affirmed that it was.
So we were the influence on Bronn and then KD and all of that and everybody coming together.Pierce then added
The Celtics’ influence and blueprint have been the catalyst for teams in the league, as their success demonstrated its effectiveness.
Currently, the Dallas Mavericks have Luka Doncic, who is leading the league in points scored this season, and Kyrie Irving, as well as the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have Anthony Edwards, a potential MVP, and Karl Anthony Towns. Proving that if you can’t beat them, join them.
