Tensions rise between Draymond Green and Jusuf Nurkic at Suns vs Warriors game; fans react

It is almost two months since Draymond Green‘s last meeting with Jusuf Nurkic. Last time around, it led to an indefinite suspension for Green. Green hitting Nurkic in the face caused the league to step in and put Green into a counseling program. Tonight they were to face off again. And the battle between the two was sure to bring the spotlight back on the duo. Basketball could not wait to see how it turned out.

From the start, both of them were jostling each other in the paint. The pushing and shoving increased with every passing minute. Six minutes into the game, Nurkic received the ball in the low post. He proceeded to push his way towards the basket. Green held his own trying to keep Nurkic away from the basket.

Then Andrew Wiggins reached in to try and steal the ball out of Nurkic’s hand. This led to a foul. Now, Nurkic started a verbal battle with Green straight away. This ensued for a while till the referee called a technical foul on Klay Thompson for hitting the ball out of Nurkic’s hand.

Last time around, it was Nurkic who grabbed Green from behind that led to the swing. This time, Green was jostling for position and probably was too strong for Nurkic. That led to Nurkic jawing with him even though there was no need. The previous history saw Green’s teammates come in to stand up against Nurkic.

In earlier plays, Nurkic hit Green with the ‘too small’ taunt. Green gave it back to him in the same fashion. All of these added fuel to the fire during this altercation. Somehow, both of them kept it clean and did not resort to physicality.

With the previous altercation on everyone’s mind, fans waited to see how Draymond Green and Jusuf Nurkic would battle tonight. The ensuing altercation led to basketball fans losing their minds. They were waiting to see if Green would take out his frustrations on Nurkic again.

With the game between the Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors closing on with a 113-112 win. What was impressive is that Green outbattled Nurkic in points, rebounds, and assists to get the last laugh.
