“I can’t overreact…” Draymond Green breaks silence on fourth-minute ejection and Steph Curry’s reaction
Draymond Green opens up on his controversial ejection against the Orlando Magic.
Draymond Green
Draymond Green talked about his early eviction against the Orlando Magic. The ejection nearly cost his team, the Golden State Warriors dearly. Shockingly, instead of the usual Green we know, he took full responsibility for his actions. Furthermore, he talked about his desire to improve.
Green had lasted just four minutes on the court. The ejection came after he engaged in a heated argument with the match officials. It was filled with profanities and curse words, as stated by the match’s Crew Chief Mitchell Ervin. Furthermore, it was Green’s fourth ejection this season. This is what Green said:
I got ejected four minutes into the game. Just can't do it, regardless of what was said. It just can't happen. I said what I said, I deserved to be kicked out at that point... I'm not gonna overreact, like, 'Ah, man!' I know where I am, I understand what I'm doing moving forward, and my position is just to make sure that's the exception and not the rule.Draymond Green via The Draymond Green Show
Draymond Green lost control during the Golden State Warriors – Orlando Magic game. In a space of 35 seconds, he received two technical fouls and received ejection as well. As a result, Stephen Curry, and coach, Steve Kerr, couldn’t hide how they felt about the incident. Some wondered if Green actually learned anything from his last indefinite suspension. On the other hand, others questioned Curry’s leadership capabilities.
Green appeared apologetic, something most viewers haven’t seen much. However, due to his history of indiscipline, it remains a challenge to take what he said with a pinch of salt. The Warriors and everyone involved would need more than just words from the veteran moving forward.
Kendrick Perkins comments on the latest Draymond Green ejection
Kendrick Perkins recently spoke about the latest ejection of Draymond Green. He spoke about the incident on The Pat McAfee Show. Perkins claimed the incident demonstrated that Green had yet to make corrections following his last suspension. This is what he said:
You’re supposed to get help. You’re supposed to come back a better man. I'm not asking you to change your approach to the game as far as tenacity and passion but you’re supposed to be able to balance the two. If you’re not balancing it, then all of a sudden you might need to go get more help. And help is okay.Kendrick Perkins via The Pat McAfee Show
Green didn’t take it lightly when former teammate Kevin Durant said the same comment, so it’d be interesting to hear what he has to say this time around. However, there’s no argument that Green almost cost his team with his overboard reaction to the game officials.
Furthermore, Green has managed to stay clear of any serious issues that would call his character into question since he returned from his long indefinite suspension. But the Dubs have to find a way to control Green before he becomes an out-of-control rolling ball of fire.
