Draymond Green is the glue that holds the Golden State Warriors’ chemistry together being one of their main defensive players. The player has been involved in a series of controversial situations be it on the court or away from it. Green is known for getting extremely physical during plays which may not work with today’s strict officiating.
Appearing only for 46 games this regular season, the player averaged 1.3 steals per game and 2.2 steals per 48 minutes. He averaged 1.1 blocks per game leading the team that ranked third in the league for the same. The Warriors also recorded the best offense this season averaging 118 points per game on 51.5% overall shooting from the field and a +8.0 points differential.
Draymond Green gets ejected after committing a very controversial foul
The Warriors began their journey toward winning their fourth title with the core trio. They were able to hold the Memphis Grizzlies away from taking Game 1 of round two defeating them 117-116. The final play had Ja Morant going in for a buzzer-beating layup to get the lead and win but Klay Thompson’s defense had the upper hand, literally.
Almost a minute before the end of the first half, the Grizzlies were in the position of the ball trying to find an opening to get the lead. Draymond Green took charge of defense trying to stop Brandon Clarke from scoring the basketball. In the heat of the moment, Green caught hold of Clarke’s jersey and tugged him down. The officials ruled the play as a flagrant 2 foul consequently throwing the Warriors’ center out of the ball game.

Prior to being ejected for what he did, Draymond Green was running from end to end of the court trying to hype the crowd cheering for his exit. The player may have been frustrated at the call possibly because he never intended to commit a foul of that intensity. Green was seen standing near Clarke checking if he was okay after hitting the floor.
Jordan Poole helped lead the Dubs to a Game 1 win scoring 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists. Stephen Curry scored an additional 24 points shooting 8-20 from the field. He is averaging 27.3 points, 5.2 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game in the playoffs so far shooting 4 three-pointers on 9.8 attempts and 48.2% FG. After the win, Green re-entered the tunnel congratulating his teammates and coaches. He and Curry shared a tight embrace with Dray saying, “You told me!” hinting that Steph promised a win.
