The New York Knicks just defeated the Golden State Warriors by a 38-point margin. The Dubs felt outclassed and overwhelmed while playing without Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins, and a few other key players. The fact that Draymond Green couldn’t come up with the same intensity as he did in Toronto was a big loss for the Dubs.

The reigning champs were defeated 132–94 by the New York Knicks. Six of their players reached double figures in scoring, with Immanuel Quickley serving as the bench leader. He finished with 22 points, making 5 of 6 long-range shots.

The Warriors made 13 free throws while the Knicks made 32. They committed eight more turnovers while losing the battle for rebounds 47-29.

Draymond Green spoke with Charles Barkley and the TNT crew before the match started. Charles Barkley posed questions before tonight’s match, and Draymond was put on the spot to respond.

The Warriors star appeared to be confused by Charles Barkley’s comment that Green was missing plenty of open shots and wasn’t shooting enough when he was asked a question.

In response, Green said “Imma need you to pay a little more attention, big dog.” This statement came after he said that he’s been focusing on shooting and that Chuck would have noticed Green’s 17 shot attempts in the Raptors game if he watched it.

However, it appears that Green neglected to remember this in all the laughter. Draymond only took five shots and made three of them in the 38-point defeat. That is not what is needed of Green, who must demonstrate his seasoned leadership, particularly when important players are absent.

How is Draymond going to make an impact without Stephen Curry?

Curry has been forced out due to a left shoulder problem, as JJ Redick mentioned. The superstar guard is anticipated to miss around a month of action due to the “subluxation.”

Though there was no need for surgery, there remains hope for a good recovery. Stephen Curry is in his mid-30s, and at this point in his career, a shoulder injury might have been catastrophic.

The Dubs have lost two of their three games while playing without their MVP thus far. Draymond took 15 shots and scored 17 points in the lone victory. Green can allow himself to miss shots while Steph is on the court. But Draymond must help the offense, particularly the scoring, now that Curry is missing.

The Warriors still have a chance to make the playoffs if the supporting team members grow into their roles and keep the team competitive. Curry’s continued absence, though, will undoubtedly spell the end of their title defense.
