“Call that motherfu**ing foul?” Draymond Green recalls an insane trash talking lesson taught by Carmelo Anthony

Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green is known for trash-talking throughout his years in the NBA league. But this time, he was on the receiving end and narrated an incident where he was trash-talked into by his NBA counterpart Carmelo Anthony on ‘The Herd’ podcast to Colin Cowherd. They had sat down together for a combined episode of their podcasts and talked about quite a few things.

Draymond Green and Carmelo Anthony

Draymond talked about how the Carmelo himself is a huge trash-talker. He elaborated an incident where Melo caught the ball mid-post, with his head down, he drove to the basket. On his way, he bumped into Draymond, and Green fell on the floor. Also, on the other hand, Anthony missed the shot. He got so angry and looked at the referee and yelled, “Call the motherf***ing foul!” The next possession, Melo does the same move, and gets the foul call. He looked over at Green and yelled, “Yeah motherf***er!” before heading to the free-throw line.

Draymond didn’t even hesitate to claim that Carmelo Anthony is a better scorer than Kevin Durant. There have been some great trash talkers in the NBA like Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Shaq, Kobe Bryant, Draymond Green, and well, even Tim Duncan. Trash-talking is the most common method in every sport which is utilized by the players to add pressure on their opponent.

Is Draymond Green’s demand for max contract even worthy?

Golden State Warriors have been in a tight situation regarding Draymond Green and his desire for a max contract. Green is coming off of his fourth All-Star game and played a key role in the team’s fourth NBA title win during his career. While he may still be effective, bringing defense and playmaking to a team with the most nuclear offense in the league, he may have his role decreased to a bench player within the next two to three years. His lack of ability to space the floor on a consistent basis and a series of recent injuries, including a disk injury in his back, should be a big red flag for how he will fare in the NBA as he gets closer to retirement.
