The Warriors won their first two trophies in Oakland but with the shift to Chase Center arena across the bay in 2019. It meant the city of San Franciso now hosted the championship parade. Draymond Green confessed, “After having parades in Oakland, I was a little nervous because I just didn’t know what to expect. I am the type of person, like, I like things to stay the same. I’m very shy, which most people would never believe when it comes to new people. It does not work well with me. It takes me a while to get comfortable with people. I just like things the same.

He added, “I said all of that to say, after having three parades in Oakland and then coming to San Francisco and having a parade, I was a little sceptical about it because I just didn’t know what to expect. And I love my Oakland family as Oakland will always be a second home to me. Really grew up there and became a man. Not really grew up. We know, I’m Saginaw, Michigan through and through, baby. That doesn’t change. But I grew into a man in the city of Oakland. So that place will always have a special place in my heart. Never change.”

The Celebration For The Warriors After the Championship

Draymond admitted how if he were to rank the parade’s for the championships he’s won alongside The Warriors, he admitted the 2022 parade in San Franciso is the best. “But if I’m ranking parades because we live in this society that’s always trying to rank and compare dumb sh*t, I think that may have been the best parade.” To back up his claims, Draymond exclaimed “Why was it the best parade? Number one, Steph Curry was acting up and you just never see that. Like, when we won before, Steph didn’t act up. Steph was acting up.”

“Klay Thompson was acting up. the guy stumbled five steps, then he runs over the girl and immediately catches his balance, which was the great part. You run this girl over and that’s how you catch your balance. If that girl was not right there, the girl that Klay Thompson ran over, that ends badly for Klay.” Luckily for Klay Thompson and that girl, they both seemed to be okay and the celebrations continued.

The Warriors 2022 title came after two very lacklustre seasons plagued with injuries and a pseudo-mini-rebuild the dubs came back better than ever and with this parade being Draymond’s favourite and the other players Like Curry and Klay having that much fun. They’ll be at their very best this upcoming season to bring another championship to the city of San Francisco.
