This downfall of Klay Thompson has shocked a lot of fans and teammates. From being dubbed “Splash Brothers” alongside, arguably one of the best shooters in NBA history Stephen Curry, to hardly finding any rhythm, it has been a disaster for him. Even his stats speak for themselves, which doesn’t resonate with the player he was a few years ago.
And that frustration and disappointment was seen recently in their win against the Brooklyn Nets. During their 109-99 win, Steve Kerr went with a different closing lineup, benching Klay Thomspon for Gui Santos in the lineup. Klay Thompson wasn’t the happiest after the game, as he later took to the postgame interview.
When asked how he felt about not playing in the closing lineup, Draymond Green came in with a response saying,
Who they talking about? You not finishing the game? I got benched in Game 5 of the Finals, who the f*** cares.
The reporter quickly replied saying he had not asked that question yet, but after Green’s response, he made sure not to ask it. But questions must be asked about Klay and how his fall has been a mighty one. And fans have been both worried and supportive of the Small Forward.
