The NBA All-Star was back last week, as we saw some of the most intriguing and anticipated events. The skill games, a 3-point challenge between Steph Curry and Sabrina Ionescu, and the All-Star game.

While many weren’t satisfied by the lackluster performance, there was even bigger news about the players wanting a cut from the event.

It’s called game day for a reason because everything you do that day is to prepare for the game. In the All-Star Game, you do a million other things before the game. And then, you’re asking the highest level of athletes to then go exert an extreme amount of energy. So, if you want the game to be a game, you need to make sure that guys can prepare for what? A game.
Draymond Green’s said in the latest episode of his podcast ‘The Draymond Green Show’.

The All-Star game ended with a 211-186 win for the East, which set the record for the highest scoreline in the event’s history.

And with the casual yet anticipated game, fans wanted more from the game, which led to Draymond Green explaining if they were to produce a show like its game. The event was to set it up like a real game, meaning there should be some monetary award given to the players after the game—a million on the ballpark.

The whole narrative has caused a buzz on the internet, with many calling the players out for the humongous contract and still being ‘greedy’ in the grand scheme of creating a fun yet competitive game of basketball.

Disappointments after the All-Star game

The 2024 All-Star game was awaited with such patience and intriguing fans, but after the game, not many were left satisfied, which became a huge talking point given the size of the event.

The game that saw the East go against the West was a well-picked team with players who have been performing exquisitely well this season.

The game ended 211-186, favoring a win for the East and also setting a new record for the highest-scoring game in NBA All-Star history. However, despite the buzz and the number of superstars present on both teams, the lackluster performance was the talk of the town, to the point that even icons like Larry Bird covered it

It has been for a while, with many fans calling the event depleting in terms of its performance, and with Draymond now setting a marker to reach the criteria, this seems like a debate for a while now.
