Draymond Green came out in Anthony Davis’ defense after the latter was laughed at for suffering a head injury. In Game 5 of the NBA Western Conference Semi-final against the Golden State Warriors, Davis suffered a head injury. During the fourth quarter, Davis was hit on the head by the Warriors’ Kevon Looney.

Davis was immediately taken out of the game and assessed on the bench. However, due to experiencing dizziness and loss of balance, he was moved to a separate room for further evaluation. The medical staff of the Lakers decided to use a wheelchair to transfer Davis to the locker room.

What followed was nothing short of embarrassing. NBA analysts and currently retired players, Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley were spotted laughing at the matter in their show. Both Shaq and Barkley were laughing at Davis for being carried out of the game in a wheelchair post the incident. This didn’t sit right with several people ranging from fans to others in the fraternity… Draymond Green was one of them.

Draymond Green, on The Volume Sports podcast, defended Davis and spoke about the seriousness of head injuries. Green, while targeting Shaq and Barkley, said, “I saw a lot of people laughing. But it’s a hit to the head. One small hit to the head can change everything in your life. So I don’t really understand the joke.” Green then went on to talk about how every player who steps on the court in whatever sport they play risks their life.

Green said, “I don’t understand it all. … You’re risking your life because one injury can change everything.” His statements are being assumed as an indirect attack on all the analysts who were making jokes about Davis. The likes of which include Stephen A. Smith, Shaq, and Charles Barkley.

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered yet another injury scare to their star player, Anthony Davis, in Game 5 of the Conference Semi-Finals. The highly intense matchup between both the teams just avoided being marred with a serious injury as Davis is cleared to play in Game 6. Davis’ injury, which somehow was a laughing matter for “analysts” could’ve proven to be a game changer. Though, the Lakers will now take a sigh of relief as they retain their star player. The Lakers will be going in with full force into Game 6 as the series currently stands at 3-2.

The Golden State Warriors won Game 5 against the Los Angeles Lakers, decreasing their deficit to 3-2. The highly competitive matchup between both teams is expected to take any turn, considering how close the games have been. The Lakers have performed as a unit throughout the series with different players shining each game. The squad now isn’t only dependent on LeBron James, but has other stars, including Anthony Davis, D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, and Lonnie Walker IV.

For the Warriors, on the other hand, the performance of everyone apart from Stephen Curry is a matter of great concern. The team hasn’t been able to rely on others to show up and get them a dub. The likes of Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green have disappointed more often than impressing.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Warriors plan on equalizing the series in Game 6 or if the Lakers end the Warriors’ run here. Game 6 between both teams goes down tomorrow, stay tuned!
