The Celtics recognized where they had to make a push and tightened their defenses which choked the Dubs offense. This led to a 17-0 scoring run by Boston towards the end of the final quarter. Despite Andrew Wiggins helping them stay afloat with 20 points, players like Jordan Poole had terrible nights which ultimately costed them this game.

Draymond Green gave an analysis of the Game 1 loss during the pre-game press conference. He said, “I think they stayed within striking distance and they made shots late. We’ll be fine. We’ll figure out ways we can stop them getting those threes. I don’t think it was a rhythm thing. We pretty much dominated the game for the first 41-42 minutes, so we’ll be fine.”
