“He’s enjoying it too!” Draymond Green gives insider update on Klay Thompson’s taking on bench role

Klay Thompson

While everyone was discussing Klay Thompson’s terrible season-long performance, Thompson had an amazing game on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Lakers. With no mercy, the Splash Brothers defeated LeBron James’ team 128–121. Thompson proved his comeback for the Golden State Warriors by going from being benched to scoring 20 or more points four times in his previous five games. Draymond Green couldn’t help but compliment the four-time NBA champion for his recent performances.

Steve Kerr made a risky move by benching Klay Thompson after he had led the team in starts with 727 straight games. Some believed it was necessary because Thompson was having a bad season, while others believed it was stupid to bench a player of his caliber.

However, Draymond Green stated, following the most recent Dubs game, that Kerr made the correct choice and that Thompson’s move to the bench shows both his maturity and versatility.

I think that’s great for this team, but it also shows his maturity. He was too worried about how people were judging him. And now he doesn’t care. And once he stopped caring, his game did what we know Klay Thompson is capable of doing.

Green understands how difficult it is to go from a starting position to the bench. Despite this, Thompson accepted his new fate with bravery and tenacity, turning up standout performances when he came off the bench. His outstanding results since taking the bench are proof that this mental adjustment allowed him to show off his genuine ability on the court.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson put up an amazing performance against the Lakers

Klay Thompson came off the bench and delivered an amazing performance by putting in 26 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Kerr benched the 34-year-old during the Golden State Warriors game against the Jazz in Salt Lake City on February 16, 2024. After his debut season, it was his first experience playing off the bench. His consistency was demonstrated tonight when he came off the bench to deliver against the Lakers.

Despite this, he was still not his team’s top scorer. With his performance, Stephen Curry once again stole the show. Curry had 31 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Missing three games because of injury, Warriors fans were expecting the exact performance from their Chef. He had a 12-24 FG, which was not bad at all.

Despite the Splash Brothers’ dominance over the Lakers. LeBron James finished the game with 40 points, but he was unable to lead his squad. Although D’Angelo Russell scored 23 points, it was a tough outing for the Lakers.
