“He says whatever comes to his mind” Draymond Green wants Anthony Edwards to join the ‘NEW MEDIA’ team
Draymond Green on Anthony Edwards
Golden State Warriors star forward Draymond Green was mocked by young star Anthony Edwards. It happened when Edward was reacting to Green’s comments about his Wolves team’s chances in the 2023 season. So in return when Green was asked to choose a player to join his New Media team, without hesitation, Draymond selected Anthony Edwards. Draymond was on his “the Draymond Green Show” and took the liberty to praise the rising star with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Green said he respects Edwards’ honesty and character, as the guard is not afraid to say whatever comes to mind – which is what “New Media” stands for.
The Golden State Warriors forward is known for his keen eye on rising talent in the NBA. Green is known as a student of the game as he seeks inspiration and knowledge from new players too. It’s part of the reason why he has been such a valuable asset. While talking about Anthony Edwards, Green mentioned, “He has irrational confidence. He says whatever the hell that comes to his mind. … Did you see ‘Hustle?’ Like, he got it.”
Draymond Green has a special appreciation for Anthony Edwards for his gameplay too.
Reigning champion Draymond Green is on top of the world right now. He did everything to fire back at the team’s critics and also media personalities who doubted the Warriors’ abilities. Although Green is one of the league’s top trash talkers, he’s also quick to point out players who have impressed him. That certainly does include Edwards.
In just two seasons, Edwards has been a great find for Minnesota Timberwolves, as their top pick did well for the team on regular basis. He cemented himself as one of the league’s top young personalities. His quick feet and explosive scoring were eye-catching for the Wolves fans, but his personality off the court has made him a fan favorite.
Anthony Edwards formed a great partnership with Karl Anthony Towns and is part of the reason many expect the Timberwolves to make a second consecutive playoff run in 2023. That would be Minnesota’s first time doing so since 2004 when they made it to 8 post-season appearances.
Last season, Edwards averaged 21.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 44.1%, including 35.7% from 3-point range. With the addition of French superstar Rudy Gobert, Edward and co are optimistic about their next season.
But not only has Edwards impressed on the court, but he’s also been a delight with how he carries himself off the floor, especially with the media. He played the antagonist, Kermit Wilts, in the Netflix movie “Hustle,” which premiered in June. He is just 21-year-old, and already is blossoming into a rising star, as he has the potential to turn into the face of the NBA if his growth continues in the right direction.
