The Memphis Grizzlies, facing the Los Angeles Lakers are down 2-3 in the series. The Grizzlies managed to take Game 5 at home and avoid elimination. The series has been heated since Game 1, with the fans going all around their rivalry on social media. LeBron James and Dillon Brooks have been going back and forth each game, making the series even more interesting.
Brooks who is not the best scorer on his team always seems ready to take on the toughest challenges when on the floor. So far into the postseason, Brooks’ beef with James has been more intriguing than his numbers. The 27-year-old brings in the energy on the defensive end and tends to guard the best player of the opponent team. The LeBron and Brooks saga continues as Dillon comments more about his game.
Following a blowout win at home, Brooks seems pretty confident ahead of Game 6. He’s been averaging 10 points and two rebounds so far versus the Lakers. Though his shooting percentage hasn’t been great at all, making around 30% of his shots. Regardless of these numbers, Brooks knows his potential and what he can do offensively.
LeBron James on the other hand had a rough night in Game 5 of the series, as he managed to score just 15 points and grab 10 boards. In the first four games, James had led the team to three wins, though the last road win took a toll on him. Looking at his performance, Brooks sent a warning to James and the Lakers ahead of Game 6, which had fans have a spin on him.

Dillon Brooks is optimistic about his abilities
Brooks is aware of his shooting performance in this series but seems to know his impact well enough on the floor. Brooks has been averaging 21% from the three-point land, but once he gets going, he believes he can change the course of the game. “I’m used to a certain standard for myself. … One of these games I’m going to break out for three or four threes and change the game.”, said Brooks. Fans on Twitter laughed his warning out, hinting at his bad shooting performance and being unavailable for media.
On the contrary, Brooks’ impact off the floor seemed more beneficial for the Grizzlies. Dillon left the floor early in the third quarter in Game 5 when Memphis was up by four. By the time he checked back in, the Grizzlies had a strong 24-point lead.
The Canadian player seems very confident ahead of Game 6, which is what the Grizzlies need. As Game 6 is scheduled for Friday, the Grizzlies will look to force a Game 7, playing a win-or-go-home game.
