Duncan Robinson was a guest for the latest episode of the Old Man and the Three podcast with JJ Redick, on the show Robinson tried to explain and share the reasoning behind his antics in Game 7 vs the Celtics.

The Miami Heat beat the Celtics to advance to the finals with stellar performances from everyone in the Heat uniform, it was during this victory in the fourth quarter that Robinson taunted the Celtics arena after a layup, mimicking Hulk Hogan in the process. Duncan Robinson had a rather funny reason why he did that, he said: “I wanted to do it … You’re playing on the floor you grew up in … But I have to be relevant enough in the game to like, warrant that … 10th point on a like a back cut layup, not really what I envisioned.”

Duncan Robinson in this series averaged a whopping 55% from 3pt land and was one of the main sparks that replaced the much-needed offense in the absence of Tyler Herro. He did have a terrible Game 6 against the Celtics which led to him finding out that his number was leaked to a bunch of randoms by his former classmates, he said, “I still have the number when I was in high school … my number got put in a group chat somewhere … a massive group chat … So after we lose game 6 my phone is blowing up from all these random New England numbers”, he also said that the people were spamming memes and vulgar comments towards him.

The Heat will face the Nuggets in the Finals and will look to finally finish the championship hunt for Jimmy Butler and players like Duncan and Gabe Vincent will be critical to fill in the absence of Herro who will make his return on Game 3.

Jaylen Brown’s future looks EXPENSIVE after failing against the Heat

After getting embarrassed by the Heat’s zone defense the Celtics might look to trade JB instead of overpaying him. Jaylen recorded a whopping 8 turnovers matching his field goals made with only 8 baskets in Game 7 and all of Brown’s TOV came from his own dribble i.e. he lost the ball by himself on every turnover.

Brown’s future with Boston is unclear but it is still a possibility for him to stay with the Celtics as they won’t get enough in return for a player of his calibre, only a trade of a magnitude that includes the likes of Dame Lillard or Joel Embiid will be alluring enough for the Celtics to break up the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

The problem is that the new CBA makes it even harder to keep two max players on the same team. You no longer have the loopholes and roster flexibility to improve your team in any significant way. If you’re going to tie your team’s future to two max players, you have to make sure they both are really elite players. Tatum probably fits the bill, but Jaylen clearly falls short.
