Exhausted Giannis Antetokounmpo gets worthy applause from Celtics fans after benching himself out in Game 7
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis Antetokounmpo has simply been sensational for the Milwaukee Bucks in their semi-final series against Boston Celtics. Having not only scored multiple 40-point games, but having to lead a team without Khris Middleton, is pretty admirable. However, some might suggest that the Greek Freak had run out of gas in Game 7 but that only goes only that he is just human. Justifying the same, the Boston Celtics fans gave him a huge applause when he decided to place himself out of the contest in the dying minutes of the fourth quarter.
Having scored 25 points and 20 rebounds, Giannis did lead the scoring chart for his team yet his efficiency rate took a major downfall in Game 7. Moreover, the home team outscored their opponents by more than 50 points from behind the arc. With the loss becoming ever so clear in the dying minutes of the fourth quarter, the two-time MVP decided to take rest. But the Boston fans surely acknowledged his worthy efforts throughout.
Giannis Antetokounmpo runs out of gas in Game 7 vs Celtics
While Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks made a promising start in Game 7 when they managed to outscore the home team 26-20. The showdown completely changed upon its head with Celtics finding a new hero in the form of Grant Williams, who scored career-high 27 points in the game.
Not only did Williams, haunt Bucks from downtown, but gave them no room to breathe on the offensive end. On the other hand, the defending champions went 4-of-29 from 3-point mark, which clearly was the difference.
That being said, as Giannis, Bucks are finally out of the playoffs in an attempt to become the first team in five years to retain the title, all eyes will now be on Boston Celtics and whether or not they are able to get past the Miami Heat. Being in their 37th Conference Final, C’s have reached half of the particular Conference finals ever played.
Will this time, Tatum, Smart and Brown will be lucky enough to secure the silverware? Remains to be seen.
