The Golden State Warriors front office made the best signing in the last decade by bringing Steve Kerr into the system. Kerr replaced Mark Jackson as the Bay Area bench boss and became one of the previous decade’s finest and most successful head coaches. And the Warriors are now presenting Kerr’s elder son Nick Kerr with another golden opportunity.
The Warriors have promoted Kerr’s son, Nick, as their G-League team’s head coach, Santa Cruz. Nick could have been a better basketball player, but he’s undoubtedly one of the brightest minds around the league when he’s helping his guys off the court. He averaged 1.3 points while suiting up in 47 college games during his career. He only recorded one start during that time.
Nick Kerr is 30 years old and will be replacing Seth Cooper as the head coach of Santa Cruz. He started his NBA journey as an assistant in the San Antonio Spurs’ video room in 2017-18. After two seasons, Nick then joined the Warriors’ video room for three years. And now he has got his opportunity to shine bright.
But unfortunately, fans aren’t happy with this decision and are criticizing the Warriors’ front office. They are blaming the franchise with nepotism for bringing in Nick. Many believe his only reason for getting the job is his dad’s successful time with the franchise.

Steve Kerr’s son Nick Kerr faces backlash from NBA fans over coaching job
NBA Twitter never disappoints; once again, it’s back with many of its theories. This time they are targeting the father-son duo of Steve Kerr and Nick Kerr, who are coaching the Warriors franchise. One is taking care of the business with the primary team, and the other will now be coaching the G-League affiliate, Santa Cruz Warriors. The fans don’t find Nick Kerr worthy and are criticizing the move.
Here are some of the many reactions posted by fans on Twitter here below:
The road isn’t going to be easy for Nick Kerr. And he’ll have to work his way up. Unlike his dad, Nick won’t have the services of a prime trip of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. But it’s nice to see him follow his dad’s footsteps and try his best. The G-League will be back in action from November 10th.
