Chicago Bulls smoked the Philadelphia 76ers in the Wells Fargo Center on Friday, as they won the game 126-112. The 76ers were playing without Joel Embiid, who was out due to injury. But the hero and the star that did shine the brightest in the arena was Zach LaVine. He set off the fire alarm with his raining 3-point shots in the 3rd and 4th quarters and snatched the match from the 76ers.
Perhaps the most astounding thing about LaVine’s massive 11 three-pointers game was the fact that he attempted his first three in the 3rd quarter. They went 8-8 of his first 8 three-pointers from beyond the perimeter. He finished the 3rd quarter with 19 points, before tallying 41 at the end of the regulation. Zach’s 41 was only two points shy of his season-high 43 points. Overall LaVine went 11 of 13 from beyond the perimeter.
LaVine is an underrated catch-and-shoot three-point shooter and that was on full display against Philadelphia. Most of his three-pointers came from his devastating ability to shoot off the catch. LaVine set the record for the 2nd most three-pointers by a Bulls in the franchise history. Interestingly, he also holds the record for most three-pointers for the Bulls. In November 2019, he shot 13 three-point shots in his game 49-point game against Charlotte Hornets.

Fans react to Zach LaVine’s 11 three-pointers against the 76ers

Fans could not believe the heavy rain that LeVine had brought in the Wells Fargo Center, as he stole the soul of the 76ers fans’ bodies. Fans on Twitter showered praise for the Bulls star after his stellar performance. Alluding to the trade buzz between the Lakers and the Bulls one of the fans wrote, “Lakers fans really think FO is going to trade this guy for Russ?.” Another fan wrote, “Catch and shoot LaVine is deadly. He’s saying Billy give me the Rock in late-game situations.” Here are some more fans’ reactions from Twitter;
Zach LaVine led the Sixers in points with 41 and made 14 of 19 shots from the field as he also shot over 84% from the three-point line. Patrick Williams and Nikola Vucevic scored 19 and 19 points respectively for the Bulls. It was a tough night for the 76ers, as they were playing without their star Joel Embiid. James Harden has a bad shooting night. In his 17-point game, Harden shot 23 percent from the field and 33 percent from beyond the perimeter.
It was the Bulls’ 18th win of the season, however, they still remain a Play-in team in the Eastern Conference at the 10th position as compared to the 5th 76ers. With LaVine and DaMar DeRozan in the lineup, they were expected to be one of the top teams in the league. However, after Lonzo Ball’s injury, the team hasn’t been able to capitalize on any true point guard.
