Carmelo Anthony recently officially announced his retirement via social media. Melo decided to hang the gloves after going a complete season without a solid considerable deal from the league. In his illustrious 19-season-long career he played for 6 different teams in the league and registered a lot many on-the-court and off-the-court accolades under his name. But unfortunately, Carmelo Anthony never won a ring and that’s how it will stay forever now.

Carmelo Anthony was drafted third overall by the Denver Nuggets in the 2003 NBA Draft. He spent 9 seasons with the franchise before getting traded to the New York Knicks. With both the teams Carmelo Anthony had a shot at the NBA Title but was never fortunate to land himself a ring. After, his run with Knicks he was shipped around to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trailblazers and finally called it a career with the LeBron James-led Los Angeles Lakers.

After, parting ways with the New York Knicks he never had a real shot at the title and no franchise trusted him as a superstar. And, unfortunately, he never made it to a system where he had a championship-bound team and now he’ll never be able to win as a player. After, his retirement many clowned him for not being a winner during the 19 years he spent in the league. But Carmelo Anthony was quick with his response as he holds no regrets and is at peace.

As in his response, Carmelo Anthony claimed himself to be a winner and quoted: “I’m at peace. That doesn’t bother me no more; that idea that you’re a loser if you don’t win a championship. For me, I’ve won. I won back in 2003, the night I shook David Stern’s hand on that [draft] stage. I made it out of Red Hook. I’ve won at life. The ring is the only thing I didn’t get. It would’ve been a great accomplishment, but I don’t regret it because I feel like I did everything I could to get it.” The internet though isn’t on the same page with Melo and is still clowning him.

Carmelo Anthony’s response is understandable and he really tried his best to get himself a ring. But unfortunately, it was nothing but just failed efforts. Twitter though isn’t showing any mercy to the former NBA All-Star as they troll him for being a liar. As they believe he holds a lot many regrets for not being a champion. Now nothing can be changed and Carmelo Anthony has hanged his gloves. He has also passed the torch to his son, Kiyan. But still, Melo can continue chasing a title by joining the front office or coaching staff of a franchise. As he is one of the best basketball brains out there and knows how to ball.
