In the last seconds of the game, LeBron James and the LA Lakers suffered a shocking loss to the Charlotte Hornets, 134-130. As he drove to the hoop and then passed to Dennis Schroder, the four-time MVP lost his shoe and collapsed to the ground.
The Lakers’ chances of at least tying the game were all but eliminated when the German international missed the jumper. Basketball fans responded quickly to the Lakers’ loss in this game. One fan wrote, “This might be the worst loss in the LeBron-era Lakers. Losing to an 8-win worst team in the league in the last game before Christmas Day is the point of no return.” Another fan remarked, “Bron about to cancel his Nike deal.” Here are some of the other reactions:
After LeBron James’ goal-tending violation against Gordon Hayward’s layup, the Charlotte Hornets grabbed the lead 132-130. James was outstanding in the closing minutes as he steered the Lakers to a significant 16-point comeback. With 30 seconds left, his layup knotted the score. In order to give the Los Angeles Lakers a chance to win the game even in the absence of Anthony Davis, the 18-time All-Star scored 18 of his game-high 34 points. After that strange episode, which lost the Lakers the game, he simply couldn’t complete his brilliant performance.

LeBron James’ effort against the Kings receives a sarcastic response from Skip Bayless

In last night’s game against the Sacramento Kings, LeBron James valiantly attempted to lead the severely undermanned LA Lakers. He ended with a game-high 31 points, 11 assists and six rebounds, but he lacked the necessary help to fall short 134-120.
After the game, Skip Bayless immediately tweeted in response to James’ attempt, “LeBron did a nice job of stat-padding and Kareem-chasing tonight in a blowout loss at Sacramento – managing to get to 31 points despite going (ho hum) 0-4 from three. Kings>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>King.” Austin Reaves, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis were absent from the LA Lakers’ roster. Los Angeles relied on LeBron James and the rest of the roster to battle against the visiting team because three of the team’s greatest players were injured.
The four-time MVP gave his side a 26-25 lead in the first quarter with a total of 13 points. James’ other starters all scored in the double digits, with Lonnie Walker IV leading the way with 19 points. But the depth and balanced approach of the Sacramento Kings were too much to handle. The Lakers’ defence continued to be ineffective as they allowed back-to-back 40-point quarters, which didn’t help.
