NBA star Grant Williams was signed by the Dallas Mavericks this off-season. He was traded from the Boston Celtics in a three-team deal that also involved the Spurs alongside Dallas and Boston. Dallas signed Grant to a four-year, $54 million deal. Following his signing, he has been trying to get accustomed to his new home in the state of Texas.
Recently, Williams was seen supporting Dallas’ WNBA team, the Dallas Wings, as they faced off against the Atlanta Dream. The game was heavily one-sided, with the Wings winning comfortably with a score of 101-74. They made history as the only team in WNBA history where seven players scored double digits in points.
After the game, Williams was seen hugging Wings star Satou Sabally, appreciating her 13-point performance, which helped Dallas secure a spot in the semifinals of the playoffs. However, Grant Williams wasn’t the only one who showed up to the game.
Dallas Head Coach Jason Kidd and NBA Hall of Famer legend Dirk Nowitzki also made appearances at the game. They were joined by Mavs players like Tim Hardaway Jr. and this year’s draftees Derek Lively II and Olivier-Maxence Prosper. Their presence greatly contributed to the Wings’ easy cruise through the game and their booking of a spot in the semi-finals.
NBA fans trolled Grant Williams following his attempt of getting Satou Sabally’s number
After his appearance at the Dallas Wings game, where Grant Williams was seen talking to Wings star Satou Sabally, some fans noticed that he was trying to get her phone number. Upon discovering this, fans heavily trolled Williams for his attempt. Here are some of the reactions.
Williams hopes to quickly acclimate to his new home, as the new NBA season is right around the corner. He will likely play a key role if the Dallas Mavericks aim for success next season. His defensive skills and shooting ability will be crucial for the team, especially considering their struggles last season, which led to them missing the playoffs.
