Kevin Durant and Brooklyn Nets routed Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. On a historic night for the Nets, they defeated the Warriors by 143-113 in their home game. It was the Warriors’ second big loss in two nights; earlier they had an embarrassing loss to New York Knicks 132-94.

The Brooklyn Nets were playing without their other star Kyrie Irving, while the Warriors were on the floor without their primary offensive stars Stephen Curry (partially dislocated shoulder), Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins. Both Wiggins and Thompson are expected to return before Christmas.

The Nets made 11 of their first 12 shots and by the time the first quarter was over it was 46-17, a 29-point differential that was the largest in any period in the NBA this season. At a point of the game, the Nets also led by 36 points.

Durant scored 23 points in 29 minutes of the game, making 9 of 17 shots from the field. The Nets scored a total of record 91 points in the first half of the game. It was the third-highest point ever scored in the league in the first half.

Fans took to Twitter to react to the first-half embarrassment of the Golden State Warriors and heavily trolled them on the internet. They also had some good words for the Nets star Kevin Durant. One of the fans wrote, “give this fckin mvp to easymoneysniper man bring us back to 2014.” Another wrote, “Smh, I wish they go for 200 pts on them.” Here are some reactions from the fans on Twitter.

Speaking to the press after the game Durant told the reporters that going soft against the defending champions would be disrespectful. “It’s the Warriors,” Kevin said. “You always respect them no matter who’s on the floor. They have a championship system and championship players.”

All the players from the Warriors, except Ryan Rollins, were in minus in plus/minus odd. James Wiseman, who recently returned to the team after spending some time in G-League scored team-high 30 points. It’s going to be a challenge for Steve Kerr in the next few weeks as the Warriors would try to cope with Curry’s absence.
