Alabama basketball star Brandon Miller got himself entangled in serious controversy recently. According to Tuscaloosa law enforcement, Miller allegedly provided a gun to his former teammate, which was then used in a shooting. On Wednesday, Miller had one of the best games of his college career. Kevin O’Conner, Utah Jazz’ General Manager, sent out a tweet hailing his incredible clutch 41-point outing. Fans on Twitter, however, were not having it, chastising him for publicly backing a murder accomplice.
On January 15th, two of the Alabama basketball players were named in the killing of a 23-year-old mother, James Harris. Moreover, the suspects were arrested the following day. But as more news broke out, it was reported that Miller was the one who brought a gun to the crime scene. He was also alleged of blocking the car of the victim and being present at the crime scene along with Jaden Bradley. Davis and Miles are being charged with capital murder.
The draft prospect is not facing any charges because Tuscaloosa police said, “there’s nothing we could charge him with according to the law.” However, he has admitted to giving a gun for the shooting. Miller has played 27 games for Alabama, which is number 2 in the division. He has been averaging 19 points per game, and stands high in the 2023 draft prospect.
Brandon Miller’s 41 points can’t save him from fans’ disgust on Twitter
Twitter users slammed O’Conner for the tweet that did not mention or criticize Miller’s name in the alleged killing. One of the users wrote, “Getting to 41 points tonight gave him immunity from gun charges in a murder? How many points made him innocent from any charges in the murder that happened with his gun?” Another user wrote, “Throw this f***ing killer out” Here are some more reactions from Twitter.
