Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers are having an impressive record so far this season. They defeated Atlanta Hawks 102-114 on Monday to secure their 11th win of the season. The win over the Hawks was their 3rd consecutive win. Mitchell scored 29 points and dropped crucial 9 dimes for the team. Darius Garland also scored much-needed 26 points to help the team sail past the Hawks.

The Hawks and the Cavs entered the game with the fourth-best record in the NBA and after the win over the Hawks, Mitchell and the Cavs are in the 3rd spot in the Eastern Conference with an 11-6 record. Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell have a great backcourt so far this season, and perhaps the best. Last week, former NBA Champion Channing Frye said Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell are the two best guards in the NBA. However, that was on full display last night.

Speaking to the media in the post-game interview, Mitchell said, “We were very precise with what we wanted to do and the way we were playing off each otherI would say tonight was one of our best nights working together, but there is so much more we can do.” Hawks head coach Nate McMillan had some good words for both, Mitchell and Garland for their performances. “Garland and Donovan is a guard combination as good as anyone in the league,” McMillan said. “Those guys are All-Stars and elite scorers, and they give it to you both ways on both sides of the ball.”

Evan Mobley had an impressive night for himself as he almost had a double-double. If it was not for Donovan Mitchell he would have had his 6th double-double of the season. Once Mitchell realized what he had done he stood below the ring in shock before Mobley asked him to get the ball across the shot clock line. Once Mitchell cross the ball to the half-court, he tried to apologize to Mobley. However, the most precious reaction came from Jarrett Allen, who stood there giving Mitchell a deadly look for his mistake, which made the situation even funnier for fans and embarrassing for Mitchell himself.

Once Allen realized what Mitchell had done, he gave Donovan a deadly look in astonishment as if he could not believe what had happened. However, it was not just Allen who could feel for Mobley as fans took to the internet to react to Mitchell’s mistake which took away Mobley’s opportunity to record another double-double in the season. Donovan Mitchell himself took to Twitter and hilariously called himself “Terrible Teammate.” Fans took to the internet to react to the funny play in Cleveland. One wrote, “even the clock is stunned“, while the other wrote, “even trae came over to tell him.” Find some of the many reactions sent out by fans here below:

The Cavaliers this year are having the best season since the departure of LeBron James. Where LeBron had a bad roster and had to carry the team on his own, the current Cavs are built better and have better depth. However, the best part about the Cleveland Cavaliers is their young roster, which is making a lot of noise and stepping into the contender’s conversation.
