“SICK DUNK” Fans react to Donovan Mitchell hanging Terrence Ross on a poster with monstrous dunk

Donovan Mitchell's dunk on Terrence Ross

Donovan Mitchell‘s acquisition by the Cleveland Cavaliers from the Utah Jazz this off-season marked a significant breakthrough in the team’s confidence in the Eastern Conference. On Wednesday, he boosted that excellence with a spectacular dunk that nearly dropped Orlando Magic guard Terrence Ross.

Donovan Mitchell, an All-Star guard, was acquired by the Cleveland Cavaliers in a blockbuster trade back in September, and they were aware of what they were dealing with. He is one of the few players in the NBA that can go and get you buckets in a playoff game as he is a gifted finisher who scores consistently. Although Mitchell has had some spectacular highlights in the early stages of his Cavs tenure, none of his best plays to date have topped the dunk he slammed down during the final minute of the first half on Wednesday night.

Mitchell grabbed a hard rebound, cut through the left side of the box, and absolutely destroyed the basket with a massive throw down after Kevin Love’s 3-point attempt that clanked against the back of the rim. Despite Mitchell’s shaky start, Cavs followers praised the previous slam dunk champion’s most recent throw-down on social media.

Cleveland with the W over a young Orlando team

Wednesday night’s 103-92 victory over the Orlando Magic was fueled by a season-high 22 points from Evan Mobley and 18 points and 16 rebounds from Jarrett Allen for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cleveland, who has now won three straight games after losing its opening game against Toronto, Cedi Osman contributed 14 points and seven rebounds off the bench, while Donovan Mitchell added 14 points and eight assists. Allen, an All-Star centre, averages 13.5 points and 11.5 rebounds a game, while Mitchell, averages 28.5 points per game

Paolo Banchero, Orlando’s number one draught selection, recorded 29 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, extending his streak of consecutive games with 20 or more points to five. Orlando (0-5) is the only Eastern Conference club without a victory. The Magic fought hard the whole game, but in the end they were unable to win because they only converted 6 of their 25 three-point attempts, while Cleveland converted 10 of their 33 three pointers.

Fans go berserk for Donovan Mitchell’s poster dunk on Terrence Ross

Through the first three games, Donovan Mitchell has been really impressive. He has now scored more points in his first three games in Cleveland than any other Cavaliers player has in the history of the team. However, rather than his scoring prowess, what really sticks out is his bizarre leaping ability, which he demonstrated during the game for a spectacular slam on Orlando player Terrence Ross.

This is how the fans around YouTube reacted to this amazing higlight:

Twitter also went into a frenzy after this dunk:

The Cavaliers are off to a 3-1 start thanks to Mitchell’s productivity, and even more impressively, their offense and defense are ranked top 5 in the league. Particularly considering that Darius Garland, who has missed the past two games is not there for any of this, Mitchell is demonstrating why Cleveland acquired him in the first place. But what has so immediately won over the fans and the members of the Cavs organization is his apparent affection for this place and his enthusiastic personality.
