“She knows ball” – Fans react to Kevin Durant agreeing with a 12-year-old fan for picking him over Michael Jordan as GOAT during Nets win against Hornets

Kevin Durant and Michael Jordan

Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets beat the Charlotte Hornets with a resounding victory in their home stadium on New Year’s Eve. With this, the Nets ended 2022 as the team with the highest winning streak this season. And, are entering 2023 as one of the best prospects for winning the title this season. The scores stood at 123-106 at the end of the fourth quarter and was Brooklyn’s 11th consecutive victory.

Either Kyrie Irving or Kevin Durant led the scoring efforts for the Nets this entire season and Saturday’s game against the Hornets was no exception either, Kyrie led the scoreboard with 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists while Kevin Durant was not far behind either as he scored 23 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds. For the kind of players, Irving and Durant are it’s hard to keep them out of the “GOAT” discussion. Recently a 12-year-old Brooklyn fan was seen holding a placard that said “KD is my GOAT pick Sorry MJ I’m only 12.” To this Durant was seen smiling, here is a clip of the wholesome incident.

However, Durant has always stayed clear of the GOAT talks as he considers Michael Jordan to be the GOAT. In an old interview Kendrick Perkins explained how Durant was easily the best scorer in the history of the NBA. He said, “KD is one of the most efficient scorers that we ever saw. Michael Jordan never finished in the 90/50/40 club. … By the eye test, Max [Kellerman] — since you [are] just a numbers guy — by the eye test, KD is the best scorer that I’ve ever seen. He has zero flaws in his game.”

The Nets star however was quick to react and denied these claims by saying, “Mj is one of one, God level, unmatched, unparalleled, a pure master at this sh*t. I’m still watching his games to learn. Leave me out of it please.”

Even in a recent conversation with the Washington Post, Kevin Durant said that as a player and a lover of the basketball game, he just wants to hoop. And, cares the least about GOAT debate. But the 12-year-old fan at Nets-Hornets game in Charlotte has him ahead of MJ just like many others. You can find some of the many reactions to the wholesome moment here below:

Durant recently commented on what the Brooklyn Nets did differently to be in the current position that they are in, in contrast to their disastrous start to the season. He said, “I feel like we didn’t have our identity to start the season, and then we started to figure it out. …We walk into every game believing that, ‘alright, if we stick to this template and structure that we have, we’ll be fine, regardless of what goes on in the game.”

The club has benefited greatly from the assistance of coach Jacque Vaughn in developing its identity. Since taking over for Steve Nash, he has kept players accountable, urged them to play aggressive defense, and unified the team. The Nets are benefiting from having their most connected appearance during the KD-Kyrie era.
