The Los Angeles Lakers demolished the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night without LeBron James, who had to miss his fourth consecutive game due to an injury. James was seen cheering on his teammates from the sidelines and was also seen making fun of Thomas Bryant‘s dunk on a Wolves player, which generated a lot of reactions from the fans on social media.
In their most recent game, the Los Angeles Lakers hosted the San Antonio Spurs, and the Lakers, whose overall record entered tonight’s game at 4-10, had an excellent opportunity of improving it.
But for the time being, this is the most obvious route to Western Conference relevance with LeBron James out with an injury and Anthony Davis performing at an MVP level once again. The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the San Antonio Spurs 123-92 on Sunday night to win three straight games thanks to 30 points and 18 rebounds from Anthony Davis. For the first time since 2020, Davis delivered three straight 30-point games with another impressive performance. In the first half, Austin Reaves added 17 more points to his season-high total of 21, and the Lakers went on to easily win, improving their record to 5-10.
Lonnie Walker led the way with 14 points for the Lakers against their previous team, Thomas Bryant had 15, and Russell Westbrook chipped in with 10 points and 10 assists where seven players reached double figures.
For the Spurs, who have dropped five in a row and 10 out of 11 games, Devin Vassell scored 17 points. While starting in place of an injured Jakob Poeltl, Gorgui Dieng added seven points and seven rebounds. Jeremy Sochan and Keldon Johnson each scored 12 points, however, Johnson struggled with his shooting.
Tre Jones and Josh Richardson contributed 10 points each to the final score. At 6-12, the Spurs are currently ranked 14th in the Western Conference.

When LeBron James returns to the lineup, the Lakers will need to make some adjustments if they want to maintain their winning basketball connection. It’s a lot to ask of James, who is in his 20th season, to be the only offensive contributor. In James’ absence, the Lakers have managed to stay upright.
That being said, they have a lot of challenging games ahead of them and if they want to compete for a playoff berth, they will need James back in the starting lineup.
