Jose Alvarado Steals

Jose Alvarado has been a key find for the New Orleans Pelicans. 2022-21 is perhaps a breakout season for Alvarado, who is in his second year for the Pelicans. Jose is known for his sneaky plays on the court and is often seen making the best guards on the court his victims. If that’s not enough for his profile; Chris Paul and LeBron James both have been the victim of Alvarado.

When Alvarado stole the ball from point God Chris Paul, he exclaimed in excitement, “I got him. I got him. That’s one thing I wanted to do actually, I got him on my list.” However, Alvarado is proving to be more than just a steal expert on the court. He has developed into a fierce defender and has learned to score the ball not only in the paint but also from the 3-point line. Last season with the Pelican, he shot 29% from beyond the arc, which he has improved to over 36% this season. Alvarado knows that just being a sneaky defender can’t earn him a spot and time on the floor and he has worked hard for that.

The stats show that Jose Alvardo’s impact on the game is more than the eyes can see. The Pelicans are scoring a +9.7 per 100 possessions against their opponents when Alvarado is on the floor. Jose has slowly developed into a crowd favorite and never fails to bring the crowd to their feet with his sneaky jaw-dropping plays.

Grand Theft Auto Jose Alvarado strikes Warriors

Jose Alvarado

With 9.40 on the clock in the 2nd quarter, JaMychal Green took the ball out of bounds, after Pelican center Jonas Valančiūnas scored the ball in the paint with a floater. Alvarado stood right behind the Warriors’ player and when the ball was thrown in, Jose wasted no time stealing the ball and scored over Green. The flexing Pelican got the crowd excited. Alvarado has trained with Tony Parker and his style of the game resembles Parker a lot. Jose Alvarado not only is a cheat code for the steals but also knows how to convert a steal into a point.

The Golden State Warriors became the most recent victim of Alvarado’s quick theft. After Alvarado’s play fans trolled the Warriors on the internet for sleeping when the rival guard got the job done. One of the fans wrote, “GMG is useless“, while another wrote, “this team is a joke” Here are some of the reactions from the fans.

In just 16 minutes Alvarado scored 10 points and ended up having 3 steals. The Pelicans defeated the Warriors 128-83 and secured their 10th win of the season. Golden State was without their key players Curry, Thompson, or Draymond Green as coach Steve Kerr sat them out of the game. Perhaps Steve Kerr is trying to get the struggling young core gel in together while they have substantial time on the floor.
