Stephen Curry fought through the NBA Finals once again to earn redemption against all the doubters he had to face these last three seasons. Since the 2019 title, the Golden State Warriors went through several changes to their roster and crippling injuries. This season was predicted to go down the same road prior to its start until they dominated the league.
Steph obviously sat out for one whole season in 2020-21 after fracturing his hand. The following he would go on to average 32 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game. He wound up winning the scoring title and finished third in the MVP rankings despite their early exit in the play-in tournament. Klay Thompson faced an ACL injury which forced him to stay off the court for another season.

In the Game 6 closeout, he finished with 34 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists including 6 three-pointers. He put up 31.2 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in the series to take home he first ever Finals MVP award.
“We always had a doubt but you know how long the road is to get back here because of how hard it is to win on this level. Boston is a great team, every team we played in the West are great teams. But we found a way to get it done and everybody on this stage had a part in this. From the front office, coaches, players. At the beginning of the year what were they saying? We weren’t even on the radar. And now we’re here with two trophies, it means a lot,” said Curry during the trophy ceremony.

Throughout the playoffs as Stephen Curry was getting closer to the NBA Finals, people constantly compared him to his former teammate Kevin Durant. Many believed that Steph only was worthy of winning his first championship as the other two were given to him by KD. He proved everybody wrong in Game 6.
In the locker room, the fourth time champion exclaimed the words, “Champs baby! What are they going to say now?” Curry also did not shy away from calling out his doubters during the ceremony. “It means we won. It means we took advantage of the opportunity coming back here and I hear all the comments and all the chatter. We hear all the chatter, at the end of the day it’s about what we do on the floor. Ain’t got to talk about it, just got to do it and that’s what this is about.”
