“Make one more run together” Former Brooklyn Nets’ All-Star makes heartwarming plea to Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving
Kenny Anderson want Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving at the Brooklyn Nets
Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant are searching for profitable trade, helping out each other to make a legitimate claim at the Championships in yhe upcoming seasons. As per the recent reports, Kevin Durant made a trade request back on 30th June, while another megastar Kyrie Irving is also put on the market by the franchise. Durant signed an extension back in 2022, but after his trade request, the Nets are considering their options. But Former All-Star with the Brooklyn Nets, Kenny Anderson, post a tweet suggesting Durant and Irving run it back one more time. Both stars joined the Nets in 2019 and had won just 1 playoff series since then.
But as per 51-year-old Kenny Anderson Brooklyn Nets should consider playing their stars together, for at least 1 more season, as Kyrie has a season contract with the franchise. Kyrie Irving exercised his player option earlier this offseason and will be playing for the Nets till 2023. Brooklyn now has control over the Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant contracts and can keep them for 1 more season together.
The 2019 Brooklyn Nets and 2022 Brooklyn Nets are two different teams
Brooklyn Nets had 2 of the best NBA stars in the league when they landed free agents, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in 2019. Durant was nursing his injury while Irving started early for the Nets. The team finished 7th in the league but crashed out of the postseason in the 1st round. Durant did return in the 2021 season and the team’s fortune turned. They finished 2nd in the East but lost to eventual NBA Champions 2021 Milwaukee Bucks.
2022 was the best shot at the 1st NBA Championship for The Nets. But Finalist Boston Celtics swept them aside in 4 games, raising many questions over their capabilities. They added Ben Simmons, who also did not play due to personal reasons. And now, they face the possibility of losing Durant and Irving as well. Just on the positive side, they have some valuable trade chips to deal with.
Following the 2022 postseason, Kyrie Irving opted into the final year of his contract. The front office has no interest in trading Simmons. Nic Claxton signed a two-year extension, also kept Seth Curry, and sharpshooter Joe Harris will be back. On paper, the Nets are still a strong team if Kevin Durant comes back to play for the Nets in 2022-23. They can still be a promising contender with Durant, Irving, and Simmons as new the big three in Brooklyn. Their roster has a good mix of offense and defense.
Coach Steve Nash kept the team’s position in an impressive position, and once led the East, until Durant got injured. He will need to configure the rotation to use his array of shooters and playmakers to appease his stars, build chemistry, and, hopefully, secure wins. Though the team has lost their huge creditability of winning any Championship, they have a talented team to go deep in the playoffs.
But all things do a circle around their 2-time NBA champion Durant’s stay with the team. He wants a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, which is very tough for the franchise due to the high trade value. The Nets are reportedly in no hurry to move either Durant or Irving, while pre-season workouts and training will start in August. KD and 2016 NBA Champion Irving may not be interested in Kenny Anderson’s advice, but they may remain in Brooklyn this season – as it all depends on the Nets’ policy.
