During their visit to the Kia Center in Orlando, Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns faced off against the Orlando Magic. Against all expectations, the Orlando Magic emerged victorious with a score of 113-98, propelled by an impressive fourth-quarter performance by the home team.
Kevin Durant, the star player, scored 15 points from 12 shot attempts in a rather subdued game. The Suns’ head coach, Frank Vogel, attributed the unfortunate defeat to his team’s poor offense. Vogel pointed out that Durant could have had more open shots if the Phoenix Suns had done a better job at setting screens.

Contradicting what his coach said, Durant responded:
I don't need screens. It's cool to get them, but I don't really need them. So, I don’t really feel like that’s the reason why I didn’t get shots. I just feel like the flow of the game sometimes is just flowing, and I might not get it every time down. It’s just about being efficient with the looks I do get. That’s just basketball, in general. I'm not going to try to force something up because I haven't taken shots.
Durant also recorded 7 turnovers during the game and as a true leader, took responsibility when he responded:
I put that all on me for starting the game off with a turnover. That inspires my team to do that.
The loss was the second in a row for the Suns after losing 133-131 away at the Indiana Pacers. They will be looking to get back to winning ways in the next game.
Durant doesn’t want a tribute video from Brooklyn Nets
After the loss to the Orlando Magic, Durant expressed that he doesn’t desire a tribute video from his former team when he visits the Brooklyn Nets. The legendary forward claimed that he was merely yet another player for the Suns.

He said:
What did I do to deserve that? Seriously, or is it because of my name? I’m just another player, man. I don’t deserve none of this extra attention, everybody looking at me when the game starts. The game is about all the players on the court. It ain’t about me. I was there for three years; four years and we didn’t accomplish anything worth being celebrated for. That’s just how I feel.
He added:
I don’t expect anything from anybody. I just want people to come and enjoy the game and come support the game of basketball. Whatever they do in between the time, then they do it, but I can’t control that.
The Phoenix Suns play the Brooklyn Nets next on Wednesday night. Durant’s coach Vogel will be hoping for more support for his superstar forward.
