The Bucks finished the preseason 0-5. Before the game, Nets coach Steve Nash stated that he wanted his core players — Irving, Durant, and Simmons — to get some additional minutes together as they prepare for the regular season to begin next week. Durant played 31 minutes, while Irving played 33. Simmons, who also recorded two thefts, played 28 minutes. The game pitted Eastern Conference clubs with high hopes for the season against each other. Milwaukee won the title a year ago. Last season, Brooklyn’s chances were hampered by injuries and Irving’s inability to play at home due to COVID-19 immunization concerns.
