Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped another 40 points on the night, as Milwaukee Bucks edge past Boston Celtics in an electrifying showdown on Game 5. Marcus Smart and Boston Celtics thought they had the game in their pocket. Enter Giannis and Holiday to steal the game from under their nose. On Wednesday night, the series might have finally tipped heavily in favor of the Bucks, as they managed to a 14-point deficit in the final nine minutes and change to defeat the Celtics, 110-107 in Boston.

Antetokounmpo was monumental with 40 points and 11 rebounds, making 16 of 27 shots including a long 3-pointer to make it 105-102 with 1:40 to play. Holiday finished with 24 points, eight rebounds and eight assists and Portis added 14 points and 15 rebounds. Jayson Tatum scored 34 points and Jaylen Brown had 26 for the Celtics, who desperately need a win in Milwaukee to force a decisive seventh game back in Boston on Sunday. Surely, everyone would have appreciated Giannis’s efforts to snatch game 5 from the Celtics, sadly as Skip Bayless cannot stand a good performance from LeBron, Stan Van Gundy cant stand Giannis.

Former Detroit Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy seemed way too critical of Giannis today. While he may be highly respected in coaching circles, fans will certainly not appreciate his calling, and neither will Giannis Antetokounmpo. Stan called Giannis out for every attempt and shot the freak Greek makes. He also gave a lot of credit to Robert Williams who may be a great defender but not the best, and Giannis’ 40 tonight proved that there isn’t much a good defense can do about him.

Just as Stan was mocking Giannis for not making his 3’s, the 2-time MVP sunk one from downtown, tying Bucks for the lead with 100 seconds to go. That must’ve left a bitter taste in the former coach’s mouth as Bucks went on to win the game after a insane block and defensive play by Jrue Holiday.
