Kevin Durant and Co. defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 125-117 with Durant and Irving putting in stellar performances to bring home the victory. The superstar duo put up 32 points each, with this feat they joined Celtics’ Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum as the only teammates to have 5 30-point performances in the regular season so far. With their latest victory not only have they captured the third spot in the Eastern Conference but also now have the longest winning streak of 9 unbeaten games.

Surely Durant deserves praise for all that he’s done this season for the Nets however NBA veteran Charles Barkley recently fired shots at the Brooklyn forward. Barkley called him “insecure” amid their ongoing feud. He said, “I actually like Kevin. I think he’s a great player,” Chuck said. “I think he’s actually a good dude — I think he’s insecure at times. You know, he gets mad when the old guys like myself say that he’s gotta win a championship outside of the Golden State Warriors.”

Kevin Durant is not known to keep quiet to trash talkers and is often seen hitting back at haters and trollers on Twitter using burner accounts even something for which he’s gained notoriety. Barkley was no exception. Durant called the veteran a “clown” for his comments but that’s not all. Gilbert Arenas also joined Durant to call out Barkley.

Arenas commenting on Chuck’s hypocrisy said, “You’re talking trash about him for doing something that you did, too, during the platform you had, You had a platform, and that platform you was a wild man! That’s like Dennis Rodman talking about James Harden clubbing. We don’t wanna hear!. The older guys sometimes forget who they were when they were that age.”

Kevin Durant and Charles Barkley’s beef’s origin

The start of the feud between Charles Barkley and Kevin Durant can be traced back to the time when Barkley called Durant a bus driver. The Hall of Famer remarked on the superstar’s need to win the title as “the guy” with a fairly unfavorable perspective on Durant’s legacy. He stated, “Before KD gets all that great respect from all the old heads, he’s going to have to win a championship as “the guy,” as the bus driver. That team [Golden State] had already won a championship, so no disrespect.”

He further said, “That’s just a fact. But until he is “the guy” on a championship team, we’re not ever going to give him the respect he probably deserves.” The superstar, though, didn’t require someone to speak on his behalf. Kevin Durant responded to Charles Barkley’s comments with his own tweet in retaliation.

Durant Tweeted, “All this sh*t is nasty, another terrible analogy from a hatin old head that can’t accept that we making more bread than them. It’s just timing Chucky, don’t hate the playa.” Given this beef’s past we surely don’t see it dying down anytime soon
