Everyone in the world of women’s basketball has their eyes set on Caitlin Clark. Her performances in the NCAA tournament were mind-blowing, and she’s managed to win the hearts of countless people. With her and Iowa having finished the tournament as runners-up, the attention is focused on the young guard. The question, however, still lies. Has Caitlin Clark declared for the 2023 WNBA Draft?
The league’s rules for signing up for the WNBA draft are quite simple. Each athlete applying for the WNBA draft must be or be approaching 22 years old in the year of the draft. Caitlin, on the other hand, turned 21 in January of this year and so is ineligible. This is disappointing for people who wished to see her in action in the WNBA. Her Iowa supporters, on the other hand, would be overjoyed to have the guard return for another season.
Speaking about her return to Iowa on the Dan Patrick Show, Clark said, “Yeah. I don’t know. I think I just like love this place. I love getting to play in front of a sold out crowd every single night. I don’t know. I love college basketball. I don’t know. It would be hard to leave. I think what we’ve been able to build has been super special, too. But, more than anything, I love this program, I love getting to play for coach Bluder, I love getting to play with my best friends.”
It is certain that with Caitlin returning to Iowa, her preparations for the next season must have started in full swing. The Hawkeyes would be revved up as the players would like to go all the way next year. After losing to the LSU Tigers in the championship game, they would certainly look at nothing but the title next time around.

How are Iowa fans feeling about Caitlin Clark returning for another season?
The fans are most definitely the most excited lot of the entire batch. With the Iowa superstar’s expected return, the fans decided to speak their language of love. It hasn’t been that long since the season ended. However, the University of Iowa has had to pause ticket sales for the next season due to high demand. While it is plausible that the demands come from people just wanting to watch good basketball, no one can deny the hand Caitlin Clark has played.
In an estimate that rounds up to over 6,700 new ticket requests, the University of Iowa had no choice but to put the brakes and slow down. Although the next season is a while away, fans have already started to take to Twitter to express their praise of the guard. While some call it the ‘Caitlin Clark effect,’ some are calling it the excitement following the controversy surrounding Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark.
Regardless of what it is, the fact is people want to watch Caitlin play. As of today, she stands as one of the most followed female basketball players, with fans and critics behind her. It’s only a matter of time before she steps onto the WNBA floor, and when she does, she’ll have several in trance with her talents.
