“He destroys every team he is a part of,” NBA Twitter tears apart Kyrie Irving as he leaves Brooklyn Nets to join Dallas Mavericks

Kyrie Irving handed in a trade request from the Brooklyn Nets a few days ago and has finally secured a trade. The Dallas Mavericks traded Dorian Finney Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, and three future picks for him. The Nets will be quietly happy with this trade, but Kevin Durant will not. As exp[ected, Twitter exploded with a barrage of memes reacting to the situation, with fans chiming in with their own take.

Kyrie is rather infamously known around the league for his anti-Semitic beliefs. Therefore, fans were quick to point out the fact that Mark Cuban himself is Jewish and not “Cuban.” Kyrie had shared an anti-Semitic video during the start of the season and was suspended from the league temporarily for it. However, he has come out and clarified his comments on the post. Mark Cuban, however, was definitely aware of them.

That’s not all; Kevin Durant was also trolled for having two Hall of Fame-level players with him last year only to be left alone now. KD will definitely be talking to the Nets front office about their plans for the rest of the season, but for now, he is stuck with Ben Simmons.

Lakers fans were desperately hoping to end the Russell Westbrook experience and trade for Kyrie. Lebron even tweeted a cryptic message and told the media that Kyrie would obviously help them. However, the deal did not go through, and the Lakers are stuck. It goes without saying, but Lakers fans all over the world are frustrated and dissatisfied with the fact that they will never witness Kyrie and Lebron link up again.

Sharing a wide spectrum of reactions online, here’s what fans have to say:

The Dallas Mavericks are in a solid position now to make a deep postseason run. With the addition of Kyrie Irving, the Mavs have two world-class ball handlers in their all-time backcourt. Even though they lost guards in Dinwiddie and Finney-Smith, they will take the championship experience and skill of Kyrie over that.

Luka Doncic also has just 4 years left on his deal and the Mavericks know that if they wait too long the championship window will close. Luka took them to the conference finals last year and showed that he needed help. Now that the Mavericks have given him that second superstar, let’s see if he can go all the way.
