Heat star Jimmy Butler just set an NBA record against the Celtics never done in league history

Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler has been unreal and godlike on the offensive end since the start of the playoffs. He has always been stepping up in the clutch and whenever needed for his team throughout the season. But his rally since the playoffs have started is quite remarkable. Many believed he won’t be able to continue that same offensive stretch in the eastern conference finals against the best defensive team in the league Boston Celtics. But that’s not the case as Jimmy Butler in Game 1 itself got himself an all-time stat line never recorded before in the league’s history on both the offensive and defensive end. Many are trying to shade it down by mentioning Al Horford and Marcus Smart’s absence but honestly, the form he is in it wouldn’t have stopped him from erupting up to win the game of course there would have been a difference. But as of now, the job is done and the Miami Heat lead the series by 1-0.

Miami Heat hosted the Boston Celtics at FTX Arena for Game 1 of the conference finals. The game was closely contested and head to head all the time as both the teams were at war against each other to get the lead early in the series. The Boston Celtics were the favored ones to win the game. But the third quarter heroics of the Miami Heat under the leadership of Jimmy Butler (outscored the Celtics by 39-14) eventually got them the dub. Jimmy Butler was present, active, and alert on all ends of the court doing everything he can to make sure his team can establish a lead and have the game well-controlled to win and that’s exactly what happened as the Heat squad under his leadership took over the game and won it all. The final box score stands at 118-107.

Jimmy Butler gets most of the credits for the dub. As in the game, he dropped 41 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks. That’s an all-around stat line and also add the great defense he played throughout the game to it. It’s not a record-breaking state since it has never been recorded before and Jimmy Butler is the first guy to reach such numbers since the league started to keep records of steals and blocks (1974).
