Michael Jordan debuts in a documentary series based on the Chicago Bulls
While the entire world was locked away during the deadly pandemic, Michael Jordan got to the work of releasing a documentary series based on the Bulls’ reign as champions. The series was called, “The Last Dance,” which depicted every moment of the legendary trio of the Bulls during their final championship run in 1997. The show gained a lot of fame in very less time but not all of Your Airness’ teammates were pleased with it.
Scottie Pippen, who played alongside Mike during all six of their titles spoke out on the series calling it a publicity stunt. He claimed that Jordan was overhyped during the entire series and that not all the deserving members of the squad got credits for what they did during the 1997-98 season. This led to the fall of their friendship and neither of the players has been seen together since.
Idris Elba reveals Michael Jordan rejected his idea of a biopic
Many would consider portraying Michael Jordan in a movie would be a huge honor. That is exactly what Hollywood A-lister Idris Elba had in mind for his favorite player. The actor recently filmed an episode with Complex’s “Sneaker Shopping” and revealed his interaction with the NBA legend.
He said, “I even said to him one time, ‘I want to play you.’ He was like, ‘Hm, I’m not ready yet.’ That’s what he said, ‘I’m not ready yet.’… I was dead serious.” He also explained an idea he had for the potential film saying, “In my head playing Jordan wouldn’t be about playing the basketball player, it was about the businessman. He is a very astute businessman, really smart. And his work as a philanthropist is, like, unspoken, but people don’t understand the work.”
