“I’m getting a car? He lyin,” Jaylen Brown calls out teammate Jayson Tatum for making false promises after facial fracture

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have been incredible for the Celtics this season. However, Jayson Tatum injured his teammate last week with an inadvertent elbow to the face, causing a fracture to the Celtics guard. Tatum later went to the media and said he will buy Jaylen Brown a car to make up for it. Brown was ruled out of action and when the media told him about Tatum’s promise he said, “I like that, that’d be great“.
When asked about how his recovery is going Jaylen Brown said: “It’s been tough the last couple of days but s*** if I’m about to get a car“. Brown made sure Jayson Tatum said that by asking the reporters again as he could not believe his fortune. The media pointed out that Tatum was right there so Brown asked him if he was getting a car. “Jayson Tatum, I’m getting a car?… He lyin“, said Jaylen Brown after seeing Tatum tell him in person. “When he goes like this (tapping chest), he lyin for sure“, said Jaylen Brown.
Tatum and Brown are both All-Stars this year and Brown would not want to miss this year’s game. Brown has been averaging a career-high in points and rebounds this season at 26.5 points and 7 rebounds. He would want to make his mark in Salt Lake City this year. The Celtics have been a dominant force in the NBA this season and would not want their players to get injured in such avoidable situations.
The Celtics got a taste of the NBA Finals last year and look forward to going there again
The Boston Celtics made the NBA finals last year but lost to Steph Curry and the Warriors in 6 games. However this year they have the best record in the NBA and have had it for quite some time. Thanks mostly in part to Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown having incredible seasons. Despite losing their coach to suspension in the offseason, the Celtics have picked up right where they left off in 2022.
The Celtics will not have it easy in the East this time around. Even though the Brooklyn Nets blew it up, the Sixers, Cavs, Bucks, and Heat are all legitimate playoff threats. Boston will also be aware of the fact that the West just got stronger with KD and Kyrie moving there. If they want to win a championship they have to do it now before their window shuts.
The Celtics have their core from last season firing on all cylinders and no bumps on the road so far. Even while Jaylen Brown has been out with his injury, Derrick White stepped up and scored 33 points in a win against the Hornets. The Celtic’s inexperience showed in the 2022 finals and it was expected for the experienced Warriors to get the better of them. However, this time is their chance to prove to the league they are a championship-worthy team.
