Jason Kidd, the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, is happy about Jalen Brunson’s success with the New York Knicks despite his team’s dissatisfaction at missing the playoffs. During Brunson’s time with the Mavericks, Kidd served as his coach and guided him towards becoming a dependable NBA player.
Even though Kidd would have preferred to keep Brunson with the Mavericks, he is aware that players will want to be paid in the NBA because it is a business. Kidd emphasised that putting players in a position to make money is his first objective as a head coach, and he believes that he was successful in doing so for Brunson. Kidd asked Brunson to “trust, communicate, and play hard,” and that is exactly what he did.
Here is what Kidd had to say: “I’m just going to ask for a couple things. Just trust, communicate, and play hard. If you ask Brunson, he would tell you that he listened and good things happened. I only want to put people in a position to be successful. There are 30 companies in the NBA, we all can’t stay with the same company.”
