NBA Insider Chris Haynes stated that the Brooklyn Nets and the Miami Heat are the teams that could trade for Damian Lillard. The seven-time All-Star has been likened to a move away from the Portland Trail Blazers and there are many potential suitors for him. Lillard has been very vocal about teams that he would love to play for, and the likes of the Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, and Boston Celtics are the names that came up.
He has been with the Portland Trail Blazers for over a decade but has been linked with a move away for a while now. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, this looks like the year Dame leaves the city of Portland to join a championship-contending team. Speaking about the guard’s future, Haynes said on the Dan Patrick Show, “(Damian Lillard) mentioned on air, Nets, Miami and possibly, I don’t think, I’ don’t know, Philly, but they don’t have what it takes. I’ll leave it at the Nets and Miami.”
Damian Lillard will certainly be a great addition to both the Nets and the Heat roster. While the Nets are a young side, the Heat are a team that is currently in the NBA Finals. They have lacked a player who can score from anywhere on the court and having him on the team certainly bolsters their chance of competing next year as well.

Which team would be the perfect fit for Damian Lillard?
Lillard is one of the best point guards in the NBA. He is a stellar three-point shooter and can score buckets on a nightly basis. Although every franchise would want to have a player like him, the Heat are a side that would be the perfect fit for Lillard. The team from South Beach have a lot of talented players but does not have a quality point guard, who can win them games.
Coming off the best scoring season in his career, Damian Lillard is expected to continue putting in big performances. The Heat did not have a great offense in the regular season and that is a problem that Dame can solve.
The reigning Eastern Conference champs will be looking to compete next season as well and adding Lillard will certainly make them favorites. He has been able to make some deep playoff runs and put in elite performances, but a move to the Heat could be the one that helps him get the NBA championship.
